Charlie is a second year student pursuing his Master’s degree in counseling psychology with over a year of intensive study and practical experience. Charlie has developed a strong foundation of understanding and supporting the growth of children and adolescents through his current clinical work, and undergraduate psychology major and education minor. His diverse experiences include roles as a camp counselor, teacher, and climbing instructor, each contributing to his passion for helping young people thrive.
Charlie is actively developing his counseling approach and has found particular interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). CBT empowers clients to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, enhancing coping skills and emotional resilience. REBT focuses on disputing irrational beliefs to promote wise-mind thinking and emotional well-being. Charlie is also particularly drawn to working with young clients through experiential and play therapies, both approaches that utilize play and adventure to help children express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a natural and comfortable way. Charlie is especially passionate about focusing on supporting children and adults experiencing ADHD, aiming to combine nature and adventure into therapeutic practices to bring about engaging and effective treatment. Charlie has openings for affordable rates for new clients through May of 2025 and he will return to practice for his last semester come August 2025.
